OG Juan’s birthday parties are nothing short of spectacular. This June he celebrated 50th birthday in style with close friend Jay Z. Let’s back up a bit to explain. Juan “OG” Perez met Jay Z through a mutual friend at Rock-A-Fella Records in 1996. The duo teamed up to be the go-to source for advocating and supporting athletes. Perez, president of the famed Roc Nation Sports and Jay Z are longtime business partners in sports the entertainment industry. Jay Z has often referred to Perez and their joint business venture 40/40, a sports lounge and nightclub in New York, in some of his songs.
The two, with a small group of friends, celebrated Perez’ birthday in the fashion that sports and music moguls are accustomed. Jay Z, OG, OG’s wife Desiree Perez, and Roc Nation executives started the night out with a dinner at Zuma in Midtown. Zuma is a favorite Japanese Restaurant of Jay Z and Queen B, where the group ate a hefty sum of steak, lobster, and sushi to the sound of approximately $13,000. Next, it was $9,000 worth of high-end spirits at Made in Mexico, a major hotspot in Inwood. To round out the night the famed friends popped off 40 bottles of Ace of Spades champagne at the Playroom Nightclub, costing an exorbitant sum of 91,000. Some of which were handed out to other tables in the nightclub. It’s never in fashion to state how much one spends on friend’s birthday but this is a night the partners and paparazzi won’t soon forget.
