Anesthesiologists use a combination of regional and general anesthesia. Regional anesthesia controls the pain of a particular section of the body such as arms, legs, or lower abdomen. Local anesthesia is used to control pain in specific sections of the body on the skin and tissue. Capitol Anesthesiologists also have procedures for pediatric anesthesia. Children need IVs as well as adults. Colds do not postpone surgery. Obstetric anesthesia is the next type of anesthesia that is performed.
