James Dondero’s Philanthropic Efforts

According to the PRNewswire published on 7th October 2016, James Dondero, the co-founder, and president of Highland Capital Management released a press statement to confirm that the company had donated $1 million to The Family Place, a Dallas-based charitable organization assisting victims of home violence and abuse.

The organization had a deficit of $2.8 million for its scheduled Legacy Campaign. James Dondero announced the donations during The Family Place’s 21st Annual Texas Trailblazer Awards, a lunch session hosted by Hilton Anatole.

According to the Insider Monkey, James Dondero’s donation would be administered through Highland Dallas Foundation, a subsidiary of the Highland Capital Management. The donation would be integrated to the half percent of all funds donated to the Capital Campaign.

As from October 4th during the announcement, The Family Place has raised an extra $200,000 for the Legacy Campaign. The donations will be used together with the $100,000 donation from Highland Capital Management.

With a deficit of $2.8 million to surpass the $16.5 million target, Highland Capital Management’s grant will ensure that The Family Place campaign completes successfully.

According to James Dondero, Mayor Mike Rawlings and the Dallas Police Chief, David Brown, will assist in overseeing the administration of grants to help in solving societal challenges encountered by the Dallas community.

James said that the civic duty of the officials was to support Highland Capital Management’s philanthropic initiatives. While receiving the donation, The Family Place was at its final stages of its philanthropic campaign.

James said that Highland Capital Management was impressed to be part of the campaign. In his closing speech, the chief executive officer of The Family Place, Paige Flink, urged people to contribute to the campaign to improve the living standards of the Dallas community.

Stephen Murray Was Someone Devoted To Quality Leadership
